Indulging in my love for painting wide brilliant skies/space by remaking an old drawing from high school.

A comic reflecting on the little things I liked about my world during the part of 2020 where toxic wild fire smoke blanketed Seattle. We taped up our windows, stock piled food, and put out bowls of water all over our apartment, ‘cause we saw someone online say it would help catch smoke particles from the air. The world felt like it was falling apart, so it was therapeutic to appreciate what I still had around me. This piece features the trusty water bottle I always have at my side, the little frog planter I took home as a souvenir at the last place I was able to travel to, the Mr Brown coffee cans I was temporarily addicted to, the sprouting opal basil leaves growing from seeds a dear friend gifted me, my favorite pens and highlighters I sketch with, my first published book, my wacom cintiq that I used to draw these panels, and the little crow friend who occasionally comes to socialize at our balcony.

I had a dumb idea while ruminating on the absurdity of trying to be productive during the plague - and ran with it.

A study of one of my favorite Bengali dishes, Nihari, aka Bone Curry. A curry that has been simmered so long the meat falls off the bone and the marrow melts in your mouth.
